How to be
How to be is een film uit 2008 waarin Robert Pattinson de hoofdrol in heeft gespeeld. Robert speelt Art, een jongen die bij zijn vriendin woont en ervan droomt om een singer-songwriter te worden. Dan maakt zijn vriendin het uit en gaat hij weer bij zijn ouders wonen. Hij raakt in een depressie, maar komt dan het boek ‘It’s not your fault’ tegen en hij schakelt een zelf-hulp goeroe in om hem te helpen.
Robert over zijn rol als Art:
” It’s that you can never tell if it is supposed to be funny or whether you are supposed to like, and it’s not even like a sort of kind of black comedy, it’s like… I don’t know, it’s just something really weird. Because in a lot of ways, Art’s a completely unsympathetic character, he’s just like a whining idiot. But at the same time, like, you know, you watch so many movies where there’s a character arc where, you know you end up you’re an ‘everyman’ but then you sort of struggle through your problems and then you end up being great to the end, but hardly anybody does anything worthwhile in their lives…” (during a Q&A session in Austin Film Festival)

Twilight: The graphic novel
The Twilight-saga is een enorm succes. Na de geschreven boeken, zijn er verfilmingen, director’s notebookes, posters en allerlei merchandise gekomen. Nu is er weer iets nieuws: Twilight krijgt namelijk zijn graphic novel. Het boek zal opgedeeld worden in twee delen en het eerste deel (volume 1), zal op 16 maart uitkomen in Amerika en zal $19.99 gaan kosten.
Stephenie Meyer heeft invloed gehad op de totstandkoming van het stripboek. Zij heeft hierover het volgende gezegd:
"I’ve enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series."
De illustraties in het boek zijn gemaakt door de Koreaanse kunstenaar Young Kim. Op Amazon.com kun je alvast een exemplaar reserveren!
